Christmas Wishlist

Tämän listan pääasiallinen tarkoitus on toimia mun joululahjatoivelistana niille tutuille jotka lahjoja mulle ostavat. En kuitenkaan kuvittele saavani kaikkia näitä kirjoja mutta tässä on melkein kaikki niistä kirjoista jotka tahdon omistaa. Listat ovat toivejärjestyksessä. Numeroimattomat lähinnä vaan extraa joiden kesken ei ole järjestystä. Kirjat on jaettu niihin jotka toivon saavani suomeksi ja niihin jotka englanniksi. The main reason for this post is to act as my christmas wishlist for those people who buy me presents. Don't think I'm hoping to get all these books but this is almost my complete wishlist. Mä olen hiljattain lukenut Abbi Glinesin kaksi aikaisempaa kirjaa, Breathe ja The Vincent Boys, ja mä rakastin molempia viiden tähden edestä ja musta tuli suuri Abbi Glines fani niiden myötä. Odotan innoissani että pääsen lukemaan tämänkin ja että se yltää aikaisempien kirjojen ja odotusteni tasolle. Abbin kirjoista vain ensimmäinen Breathe on julkaistu kirjana ja TVB ja existence vain ekirjoina. Abbin neljäs kirja Because Of Low on tulossa huhtikuussa 2012 mutta siitä en vielä enempää tietoa löytänyt muuta kuin että kuten kaksi ensimmäistä sekään ei tule sisältämään paranormaalia vaan tämä on tällä hetkellä ainoa.


I just read Abbi's first two books, Breathe and The Vincent Boys, and loved them like crazy and they made me a huge fan of Abbi Glines so I'm waiting very impatiently to get to this book. I'm really hoping it is as good as the first two and meets my expectations. From Abbi's books only the first book Breathe is out as a book and TVB and Existence only as ebooks. Her fourth book Because Of Low is coming out in february and like the first two it will be comtemporary romance. But thats all I found out about it.

 Mä rakastan Kreikan mytologiaa ja oon poikkeuksetta tykännyt kaikista mitä tähän mennessä oon lukenut, eikä tästäkään sitä poikkeusta tullut. Näin jälkikäteen oon aika yllättynyt että tykkäsin tästä tosi paljon kun tää sisältänyt yhtään romantiikkaa. Mun on pakko myöntää se on yleensä suuri vaikuttaja siinä minkä verran pidän kirjasta, tosin valitsen yleensä vaan sellaisia kirjoja missä sitä on. Tämä kirja oli kuitenkin tarpeeksi mielenkiintoinen ilman sitäkin.

Kirjan päähenkilö Nikki on mahtava hahmo. Nikki on kunnollinen Kick-Ass-sankaritar mutta ilman erikoisempia supervoimia. Nikkin tunteisiin oli helppo samaistua ja oli hahmona uskottava. Niin kuin Nikkikin en minäkään lämmennyt kirjan muille hahmoille (siskoa lukuunottamatta). Kirjan hahmoista toinen puoli oli kirjan pahikset ja toinen puoli paremmat, joita ei voi sanoa hyviksiksi. Nikki ei luottanut heihin enkä luottanut minäkään (eikä ihme kirjan alun jälkeen!) ja koko kirjan ajan mun tunteet vastasivat Nikkin tunteita.

Tämä sisälsi aika paljon väkivaltaa ja puhetta seksuaalisesta sellaisesta mikä ei ollut maailman helpointa luettavaa. Jälkimmäisen yksityiskohdat kuitenkin jätetty onneksi pois. Kaiken kaikkiaan mahtava kirja ja odotan innolla että pääseen lukemaan seuraavan osan Deadly Descendant jonka alustava julkaisu on Huhtikuussa 2012.


I love greek mythology and so far liked every book I've read and this one didn't change that. Now afterwards I have to say I'm suprised that I liked this as much as I didn't since it didn't have any romancy in it. Useally that is a huge part on how much I like the book, altough I useally only choose ones that have it. This was intresting enough without it. 


The main character Nikki is awesome. She is a great Kick-Ass-heroine without any great superpowers. Her emotion are easy to releate to and she is beliavable character. Like Nikki, I also didn't warm up to the other characters (exept her sister). Half of them were the bad guys and the other half the better ones, who you can't say are exatly good. Nikki didn't trust them and nether did I (and no wonder after the way the book started) and through out the book my feelings mirrored hers.


This had quite a bit of violance and some talk about the sexual kind but luckily the details about the latter where left out but it wasn't the easiest thing to read. But this was a great read and I'm really waiting to read the second book Deadly Descendant which should be out april 2012.

Halloween Reads: Carrie Harris - Bad Taste In Boys

Kuten tiistaisessa TOP10 tiistai postauksessa mainitsin niin päätin tänä vuonna lukea paremmin Halloweeniin sopivia kirjoja. Kirjat jotka valitsin ovat olleet jo jonkun aikaa mun lukulistalla ja niinpä päätin nyt tarttua niihin.

Like I mentioned in my TOP10 tuesday post, I decided to read something more fitting this year for Halloween. The books I choose have been in my reading pile for a while and I decided to finally try to read them.

Kukaan ei ole turvassa, ei Katen ihastus Aaron, ei hänen nörttimäinen veljensä, eikä Kate itsekkään.

Katen täytyy löytää vasta-aine ennen kuin koko koulu päätyy syömään toisensa. Niinpä Kate, hänen paras ystävänsä Rocky ja Aaron ryhtyvät epätoivoiseen taisteluun pelastaakseen kaupungin... Ja pysyäkseen ihmisinä.

Mä en voi uskoa etten ollut lukenut tätä aikaisemmin! Tää oli kohtuu täydellinen kirja mulle näin Halloweenin aikaan koska mä en niin välitä kauhu kirjoista. Tää kirja oli nauroin-ääneen hulvaton! Tässä oli uskomatonta tilannekomiikkaa ja Katen ajatuksenjuoksu hauska. Mä pidin Katen hahmosta. Kate ei ole tyypillinen sankaritar eikä omaa minkäänlaisia taistelutaitoja, vaan sen sijaan on uskomattoman rohkea, epäitsekäs ja viisaan päänsä ansioista selviää tilanteista. 

Kaikista yliluonnollisista hahmoista Zombiet kammottaa mua eniten. Luulen sen johtuvan siitä että ne yleensä aina esitetään yököttävinä pahiksina. Hauskuudestaan huolimatta tässä on aika ällöjä juttuja, kuten verta, putoilevia ruumiinosia, aukinaisia päitä ja pari kuollutta ihmistä. Toisaalta tää ei mulle tuntunut pelottavalta vaan enemmänkin jännittävältä eikä tää missään tapauksessa mene kauhun puolelle ja toi tilannekomiikka keventää tätä aika paljon. 

Tää oli niitä kirjoja jotka piti mut hereillä pikkutunneille asti kunnes viimeinenkin sivu oli luettu. Siitä todisteena kummasti tummentuneet silmänaluset. Huoh. Tähän kirjaan on ensivuonna tulossa jatkoa, Bad Hair Day, jossa Kate ratkoo ongelmia ihmissusien, nanoteknologian, mustikanmakuisten astronauttien ja tappaja kookospähkinöiden parissa... Kuulostaa hulvattomalta!

I can't believe I haven't read this before! This was perfect book for me to read at Halloween time since I'm not a big fan of horror books. This book is laugh-out-loud hilarious. It has funny situation-humor and Kate's train-of-thouht is witty. I really liked her character who isn't your typical heroine and she doen't have any kind of fighting skills. Instead she is unbelievably courageous, unselfish and uses her head to get trough the situations.

From all the supernatural beigns there is, zombies creep me out the most. I think that is becouse they usually are portrayed as the gross bad guys. Despite being so funny this had pretty gross stuff like blood, body parts falling off, one head open at the top and few dead people. On the other hand this didn't feel scary to me but more like exciting and this definetly isn't horror and the situation-humor makes it lighter.

This was one of those books that kept me awake almost until morning until I had read the last page of the book. You can find the proof in the weirdly darkened skin under my eyes... Sign. This book is getting a sequel next year called Bad Hair Day and Kate will be getting into werewolfs, nanotechnology, blueberry flavored astronauts and killer coconuts. Sounds hilarious!

Ensimmäinen kirja Die For Me kertoo 16-vuotiaasta Katesta, joka muuttaa vanhempiensa kuoleman jälkeen Amerikasta Pariisiin. Hän löytää itsensä rakastumasta Vincentiin, jonka hän huomaa olevan jotain muutakin kuin tyypillinen ranskalainen nuori jollaiselta hän vaikuttaa. Rakkaus, mysteerit ja kauhu yhdistyvät kaupungissa jossa unet ovat joskus sama kuin todellisuus.

The first book Die For Me is abot 16-year-old Kate who moves from America to Paris after her parents die. She finds herself falling for Vincent who she discovers is more then your typical french teenager. Love, mystery and horror are compined in the city where dreams are sometimes the same as reality.


Mä RAKASTAN, RAKASTAN, RAKASTAN tota kantta. Ykkösen kansi oli ihan mieletön ja nää tulee näyttämään upeilta yhdessä. Rakastin myös sarjan ykkös osaa joten odotan toodella malttamattomana että pääsen käsiksi tähän. Tuntuu että siihen olisi vielä ikuisuus aikaa...


I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the cover! I loved the cover of the first one and they will look amazing together! I also loved the story of the first book so I'm really looking foward to get my hands on this. It feels like forever away...

Mä tykkäsin ihan mielettömästi tosta ekasta osasta ja luin 1.5 osan kirjailijan kotisivuilta ja oon odottanut tätä tosi malttamattomana siitä asti kun huomasin että tähän on tulossa jatko-osa.

Yön Talo sarja seuraa Zoeya joka ensimmäisessä osassa merkitään Vampyreksi ja muuttaa Yön Taloon valmistumaan täyskasvuiseksi Vampyreksi. Mutta hän ei olekkaan ihan tavallinen aloittelija vaan Zoey on merkitty tärkeäksi Jumalatar Nyxin toimesta ja hän löytää itsestään uskomattomia voimia. Sarjan edetessä Zoey löytää tarkoituksensa ja joutuu moniin taistoihin.

Mä olen ensimmäisestä osasta asti ollut aivan hulluna tähän sarjaan ja aina odotan seuraavaa osaa enemmän kuin kuuta nousevaa. Suomeksi Yön Taloa on käännetty ensimmäiset neljä osaa. Lisää kirjoista löydät suomeksi ylempää Yön Talo linkistä. Jos olet koukussa tai jäät koukuun sarjaan niin nuo englannin kieliset on aika helppo- ja nopea lukuisia. Tää sarja paranee mitä pidemälle se menee, näissä on tullut itkettyä ja naurettua niin ettei loppua ole meinannut tulla. Aikaisemman jutun kirjoista löytää toisen blogin puolelta tästä linkistä. Onneksi tän julkaisuun on enää muutama viikko vaikka sitten tarvitsee taas odottaa vuosi seuraavaa... Huoh.


The House Of Night series follows Zoey who becomes fledgling vampyre and discovers that the goddess Nyx has marked her as special with amazing powers. Trough the series Zoey finds what she was meant for and ends up in many battles.

I absolutely love these books and they just keep getting better. Luckily I don't have to wait this one for long altough after I have to wait another year for the 10th book. Sigh.

Mä vietin kesällä kolme kuukautta jenkeissä Washington DCssä ja hankin siellä jonkun verran kirjoja.  Pari noista mulla oli jo e-kirjana mutta halusin ne ihan oikeana kirjanakin koska pidin niistä niin paljon eikä mikään voita oikeaa kirjaa. Lesley Livingstonin kirjoja lukuunottamatta muut olenkin jo lukenut sen jälkeen..

I spend 3 months in Washington DC during the summer and bought some books while staying there. I already had few of them as ebooks and had read them but liked them so much I wanted to get the real book since nothing can beat that. The other books I have read after that except for the two Lesley Livingston books.

Tein viime viikon torstaina tilauksen Brittiläiseen The Book Depository nimiseen kirjakauppaan ja tilasin yllä olevat kirjat sieltä. Toimitusajaksi luvattiin 7-10arkipäivää mutta nämä tupsahtivat postilaatikkoon jo tiistaina ja keskiviikkona. Eli siis kahdessa arkipäivässä. Tiistaina tulleet oli postitettu perjantaina ja keskiviikkona tulleet maanantaina. Uskomatonta! Sen lisäksi kyseisellä liikkeellä on ilmaiset postituskulut koko maailmaan ja niiden hinnat on todella edulliset. Linkit kirjoissa vievät Goodreadsiin.

I made an order last thursday to Brittish bookstore called The Book Depository. Their prices are cheap, they ship free for worldwide and I got my books from UK to Finland in two working days, which is amazing! These five books in mailbox this week are from there. Alku / Beginning

Oon jo pitkään harkinnut kirjablogin pystyyn pistämistä ton toisen blogin ohelle ja nyt sitten näköjään sellainen on tullut pistettyä pystyyn. Jotain kirjapostauksia löytyi jo vanhasta mutta nyt olisi tarkoitus tehdä tälle puolelle arvostelut kaikista kirjoista mitkä luen. Haasteeksi asetin itselleni tänä vuonna 100 kirjaa joista olen lukenut nyt 52 eli oon tavoitteesta tällä hetkellä jäljessä noin 14 kirjaa. Ulkomaan reissut sotki tota aika pahasti.

Mä oon vuoden alusta pitänyt kirjaa luetuista kirjoísta Goodreads sivustolla ja myös niistä jotka haluan lukea. Mun profiiliin pääset tästä. Ystäväksi saa mielellään lisätä tai voit seurata päivityksiäni.

Mä luen pääsääntöisesti Englanniksi ja kirjat yleensä tuppaa olemaan fantasiaa tai muuta yhtä syvällistä fiktiota. Toisinaan innostun haastamaan itseni lukemaan jotakin sivistävämpää ja tarkoitus olisi ottaa osaa blogeissa kiertäviin haasteisiin varsinkin sen nimissä.

Mulla on juuri luettuna pino kirjoja joista yritän saada tehtyä arvostelut tänne jotta saadaan homma liikkeelle. Ajattelin myös esitellä Amerikan reissulta ostetut kirjat ja mulla on muutama muukin postaus idea. Kun on saanut tän blogin jollekkin mallille niin tarkoitus olisi pistää pystyy ensimmäinen arvonta. Arvontoja toivon pystyväni pitämään blogissa säännöllisesti.

Ja sitten tältä erää varmaankin viimeiseen juttuun eli siihen että tulen pyrkimään siihen että kirjoitan kaikki postaukset myös englanniksi. Ne todennäköisesti tulevat jäämään suomenkielisiä juttuja suppeammaksi ja saa nähdä luovutanko sen suhteen mutta sellainen olisi pyrkimys. Antakaa anteeksi kirjoitusvirheet.

I've been thinking about starting my own book blog for a while now and it looks I just put one up. My goal is to write every post in both finnish and english. The later is propably going to be shorter but lets see what happens. Also since my mother language is fininsh please do forgive my mistakes.

My goal for this year was to read 100 books and I'm up to 52 now which meens I am about 14 books behind. Since the beginning of this year I've keeping track in Goodreads, where you are welcome to follow me or add me as a friend. You can get to my profile from here.

I mostly read in english and the books I read are mostly YA fantacy and other equally deep fiction. Sometimes I try to do better. I hope to participate in some of the challeges going on in book blogs.

I have a pile of recently finished books I'm trying to review here as soon as possible to get this show on the road. Also I just spend 3 months in Washington DC so I'm going to do a post about the books I got on that trip and then I have few other ideas too. Once this blog gets going I'm going to host a giveaway. Unfortunately the first one is going to be only in Finland (since I already have the price and its in finnish). Depending on what happens I hope to host international giveaways regularly.
